YMCA of the Suncoast Dedicates Field 17 to Allen Crumbley

Thursday, May 11, 2023, was a groundbreaking day at James P Gills YMCA! The brand-new “Field 17” was dedicated in honor of Allen Crumbley, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group Broker & Co-Owner for his years of legendary service to the James P. Gills Family YMCA and the YMCA of the Suncoast.

“I am humbled and flattered to receive such an honorable dedication. The YMCA is such a meaningful organization to so many. It is a true honor to be a part of such an incredible team,” stated Allen Crumbley.

This expansion endeavor will encompass the addition of four pickleball courts as well as enhancements to the existing sports fields, healthy living center, and teen center.

As we embark on this new chapter for the YMCA, we are reminded of the importance of community. Field 17 is named recognizing our very own Allen Crumbley’s outstanding dedication, service, and support for the YMCA for 30+ years. The number 17 was his jersey number when he played football for Bear Bryant at the University of Alabama in the ’70s. This is a tremendous honor, and we could not be prouder of Allen for his years of service to the YMCA as well as his company. He leads with a faithful servant’s heart, no one deserves this dedication more!

“I’m honored to be on the Advisory board at the YMCA and to work for a company like Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group where I stand in between two honorable gentlemen, Dewey Mitchell and Allen Crumbley, Brokers & Co-owners of BHHS FLPG. They have both helped make this possible for the YMCA. Their support and generosity to the community are what these two men are about and why I picked BHHS FLPG to be the company I work for and represent,” stated Venessa Finnazzo BHHS FLPG Realtor & YMCA Board Member.

The YMCA is a place where people can gather in the community. With this expansion, hopefully, it can reach even more. Over 250 teens come through the doors every day after school. Families can work out together, friendships are made on the sports fields and lives are saved with the swim lessons. The YMCA is so much more than a gym, it’s a place where people can have community. That is why 25 years ago the dream of this place became a reality.
